One of the first important steps of the initial planning process for the European Congress of Radiology is to choose the members of the PPC.
PPC stands for Programme Planning Committee, which is the group of people in charge of the educational and scientific programme. The composition of the PPC is proposed by the Congress President who then asks for validation from the ESR Congress Committee.
It was my privilege to choose colleagues with great skills in different fields of radiology and partner disciplines from twenty-two European countries. I am deeply grateful to them for accepting my invitation and I am sure that their contributions will be crucial to the success of the congress.
Following a tradition established for the first time by Yves Menu, an ECR Programme Team brochure was compiled and published for ECR 2012. The gallery includes all the PPC members, the Scientific Subcommittee Chairmen and the staff members of the ECR scientific programme department.   
I wanted to continue this tradition, since I believe it is useful, especially at the beginning of a project, for people who are going to work together for about two years to know and recognise each other more easily. At the same time, the ECR 2012 attendees will recognise the faces in the gallery as the creators of the ECR 2012 programme.
Transparency, Excellency, Action, and Motivation – four of the requirements for the creation of a successful TEAM – characterise all the people in the gallery and I am extremely grateful to all of them for their valuable contributions.
